Yearly European Robotic Urology Symposium – ERUS’11 Hamburg
The 8th European Robotic Urology Symposium in Hamburg from 5 till 7 October 2011 was once again a great success, with more than 400 delegates from all over the world!
The main programme was mostly dedicated to live surgeries, where international top-surgeons showed the latest surgical techniques and new robotic procedures for minimal invasive surgery during 18 complex live operations from 3 OR’s in parallel. The round table sessions and open discussions opened new perspectives and the lectures on topics like complications in robotic surgery, training and the role of PCA3 in biopsy decisions were well received by the audience.
Most of the presentations showed during ERUS’11 are available here below. Please use the password you received in the ERUS’11 e-mail to open the presentations.
On Wednesday morning, the second edition of the Junior ERUS session took place.
At this session, given by young urologists for young urologists, surgical trainings were discussed, tips and tricks for starting surgeons were given etc.
On Wednesday afternoon, 4 courses were given in parallel. These courses gave the occasion to explore the newest techniques and discover the newest updates in one specific section of robotic urology, demonstrated by top-experts and supported by tons of video material.
Besides the scientific programme, there was the social programme with the gala dinner at the International Maritime Museum, the historical tours throughout Hamburg city and the second World Masters of UroRobotic Golf. These events gave the attendants the occasion to discover the beautiful city of Hamburg and to meet with fellows in a more casual setting.
